AsiaToday reporter Hong Sung-yool = SK Telecom is aiming to increase its sales in the global markets with 'Smart Appcessories' such as ultra-mini projector Smart Beam and smart robot Atti.
On February 24, SK Telecom announced that the company is in talks with distributors in France, Spain and China to supply Smart Beam in their respective countries. The company also signed a sales contract with France's Big Robots to supply 1,000 units of smart robot 'Atti' to be sold in France. The company also developed new contents for Atti reflecting requirements of consumers in France.
The company has already exported nearly 8,000 units of Smart Beam to 7 countries including Germany, and is selling at in-flight duty free shops of Korean Air and Asiana Air.
SK Telecom has signed an agreement with Telefonica, the largest mobile service provider in Spain, to provide Atti to experience spaces in Madrid and Barcelona so that kids can experience Atti. As it became popular, SK Telecom and Telefonica are in talks to further expand the number of experience spaces in 3 or 4 cities such as Seville and Saragossa.
SK Telecom will be participating in Europe's biggest robot exhibition 'Innorobo 2014', which will be held next month in Lyon, France. The company will also display Atti and Smart Beam at Mobile World Congress (MWC) which will be held in Barcelona, Spain, from March 24 to 27.
